About the role#
Beloit Health System is hiring a Student Radiologic Technologist to join the diagnostic imaging team at Beloit Memorial Hospital. This position offers students currently enrolled in an accredited program the chance to gain clinical experience in a hospital setting. You will work under the supervision of registered Radiologic Technologists and Radiologists to develop skills for a career in medical imaging.
What you'll do#
- Assist registered Radiologic Technologists with diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient procedures.
- Escort and position patients for imaging examinations under supervision.
- Verify patient identification and maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
- Provide customer service and compassionate patient care.
- Assist with obtaining patient histories and preparing documentation.
- Support patient transfers using safe handling techniques.
- Learn and apply radiation safety principles and departmental protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas.
- Assist with image processing, PACS workflow, and clerical duties.
- Participate in training activities to enhance technical skills.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety procedures, and professional standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the final semester of an AMA accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Ability to become ARRT registered in Radiology and licensed in the state within 90 days of graduation.
- CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Self-motivation, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact well with customers.
Location & details#
- Location: Beloit, Wisconsin.
- Schedule: Varied hours between 6:30 am and 11:00 pm.
- Status: Per diem, part-time, and paid.
- Term: Rolling.
