About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the Commercial Banking division at BMO. You will support the lending process for new and existing clients while working alongside experienced professionals. The program runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. Full availability for the duration of this term is required.
What you'll do#
- Analyze credit information to support lending decisions for Commercial Banking clients.
- Perform financial analysis and calculations, providing recommendations to your manager.
- Prepare detailed credit summaries to assess creditworthiness.
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify potential risks or trends.
- Support the development of proposals and presentations to capture new business.
- Structure loan renewals and extensions in line with bank policies.
- Identify revenue and cross-selling opportunities to help grow the portfolio.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Relevant experience in credit, lending instruments, or financial operations within a corporate or banking setting.
- Foundational proficiency in financial analysis and loan structuring.
- Experience using data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards.
