About the role#
This student accompanist position supports the music department by providing musical accompaniment for various campus activities. You will work with students, faculty, and guest artists to support recitals, ensembles, studio classes, lessons, rehearsals, exams, auditions, and competitions.
What you'll do#
- Prepare musical repertoire for rehearsals and performances across a wide range of literature.
- Coordinate rehearsal and performance schedules with students, faculty, and guest artists.
- Perform as a collaborative artist and accompanist as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University.
- Ability to sight-read medium to difficult accompaniments.
- Technical facility to play advanced and complex musical literature with stylistic understanding.
- Knowledge of standard vocal and instrumental repertory.
- Ability to perform at a professional level.
