About the role#
This role supports cybersecurity operations within the Bob Jones University IT department. You will assist with security research and operational tasks while gaining practical experience in the field.
What you'll do#
- Investigate, categorize, and take action on reported phishing emails.
- Research vulnerabilities and exploits to determine their applicability, adjust risk levels, and document your findings.
- Analyze audit logs from various security controls to determine the impact of their implementation.
- Conduct research on additional security controls as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University, with a preference for IT and Cybersecurity majors.
- Understanding of email authentication methods, phishing attacks, and social engineering.
- Ability to demonstrate a personal interest in cybersecurity, such as through personal projects, labs, or activities outside of coursework.
- Strong research and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with Windows and Office applications.
- Network+, Security+, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
