About the role#
This co-op position offers an eight-month opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managed IT services. You will act as the primary interface for end-user computing services, working directly with analysts and customers to resolve technical issues. You will be treated as a full-time employee and contribute to real-time problem analysis and system improvements.
What you'll do#
- Provide support for end-user platforms, including desktop and laptop systems.
- Maintain desktop images, standardization, and security packages.
- Manage desktop policies and mobile computing standards.
- Repair PCs and peripheral equipment.
- Handle escalated problems that exceed the scope of first-tier support.
- Document, track, and monitor issues to ensure timely resolution and minimize downtime.
- Simulate or recreate user problems to identify solutions.
- Recommend system modifications to reduce future technical issues.
- Coordinate with network, datacenter, and application development teams when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior standing in a Bachelor’s program for MIS or Computer Science.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to commit to the full eight-month term.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows-based software.
- Knowledge of Windows XP and newer versions, plus Windows Server 2008 and newer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with PC hardware and software.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage workloads, and meet milestones.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to follow written instructions.
- High level of motivation and independence.
