About the role#
The Bronx County District Attorney Office offers a nine-week summer internship for 2L law students. This program provides hands-on experience in a public service environment. Interns are assigned to specific bureaus, such as the Trial or Investigations Divisions, where they work under the supervision of an Assistant District Attorney. The program runs from June 1, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Observe court proceedings, hearings, and trials.
- Conduct legal research and complete drafting assignments.
- Assist attorneys with case preparation and litigation support.
- Review police reports and participate in witness interviews.
- Take part in training programs, lectures, and professional development workshops.
- Engage in simulation exercises to build advocacy skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2L law student in the JD class of 2028.
- Completion of a Criminal Law course.
- Demonstrated interest in public service, criminal law, and litigation.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Commitment to the full nine-week program duration.
- Ability to pass a background check.
