    About the role#

    This is a part-time, rolling internship focused on the mechanical engineering aspects of flight simulator design and development. You will work on a variety of projects, applying engineering design methods and CAD tools to solve technical problems. This role involves both office-based tasks and time spent in a manufacturing facility.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with the daily activities of small to medium scale programs.
    • Resolve technical issues and provide support to suppliers and manufacturing teams.
    • Participate in the installation and final sell-off of training devices.
    • Coordinate and review technical and operational deliverables.
    • Conduct independent studies, analysis, and interpretations.
    • Perform product development, including parametric CAD modeling, drawing creation, and the implementation of customer specifications.
    • Collaborate with peers and management to coordinate engineering activities.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Knowledge of fundamental mechanical engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Experience with parametric CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo.
    • Familiarity with Model Based Engineering and GD&T.
    • Experience with simulation and machine shop tools.
    • Strong logical problem-solving, communication, and detail-oriented skills.
    • U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
    • Ability to obtain a DoD Personal Security Clearance.

    • Location: Arlington, Texas.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Employment: Part-time, paid internship.
    • Physical requirements include the ability to lift 25 lbs, climb stairs, and work overtime or off-shifts as needed.
