About the role#
This is a 12-month student position based at our head office in Calgary. You will join the Upgrading and Utilities Engineering Team to support operations, maintenance, and construction projects. This role is a safety sensitive position and requires working a standard 5-day, 40-hour week.
What you'll do#
- Use the Hexagon Smart Plant suite to support engineering and design systems.
- Identify improvements for data-centric systems and find opportunities for automation.
- Integrate data across multiple platforms and ensure alignment with project and operations requirements.
- Analyze asset data to optimize maintenance frequency.
- Collaborate with the 3D modeling team to refine workflows, improve deliverable quality, and resolve data inconsistencies.
- Write code to automate data processes for engineering information.
- Work with the As-building team to reconcile engineering information with field conditions.
- Communicate with various departments across operations, maintenance, and project execution teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science, or graduation within the last year.
- A valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean abstract.
- Comfort operating work trucks safely.
- Previous engineering or field experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, VBScript, or Python is an asset.
