About the role#
This is a 4-month summer student position based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. You will report to the Area Foreman and work alongside experienced professionals in our Field Operations team. The role follows a 4 days on and 3 days off schedule, with 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing as well as a fitness to work test.
What you'll do#
- Maintain site housekeeping, including cleaning and painting.
- Manage vegetation, including weed eating at operational sites.
- Assist with compliance tasks, such as data capture and equipment asset management.
- Support warehouse and supply chain staff with daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently in your second or third year of a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with plans to return to studies after the term.
- Alternatively, high school graduates who have completed a 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and experience driving on rural roads.
- Ability to work outdoors in temperatures that can exceed 30 degrees.
- Physical capability to perform basic maintenance tasks.
- Strong commitment to safety and a willingness to adapt to process changes.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to live and work in the greater Grande Prairie area.
