About the role#
We are looking for a Field Operations Engineering Summer Student to join our Operations Engineering team for a 4-month term starting in May 2027. This position is based in our Grande Prairie office and involves regular travel to field locations in the Kakwa region. You will report to the Supervisor of Operations Engineering and work alongside experienced team members on various engineering tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with ad hoc projects and Management of Change (MOC) initiatives.
- Collect data from superpads and plants to support troubleshooting and project development.
- Gather combustion data, identify efficiency opportunities, and support the economic justification of projects.
- Perform emission inventory audits and develop projects to mitigate emissions.
- Travel to field locations to support operations as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the second or third year of a Bachelor’s program in Engineering, with plans to return to studies after the term.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license and experience driving on rural roads.
- A willingness and ability to travel regularly to field locations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong work ethic, motivation, and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to adapt to process changes and modifications.
- Successful completion of drug and alcohol testing is required for this risk-sensitive role.
