About the role#
HMH is hiring a Manufacturing Shop Operations Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, Texas. You will work with our shop operations team to support production efficiency, manage scheduling, and lead specific Lean improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate materials, tooling, and Lean improvements to support shop production.
- Manage shop scheduling and improve visibility through SAP reports.
- Work with Product Quality Specialists to track and resolve non-conformances.
- Streamline material staging and production set-ups.
- Develop accurate dispatch lists and a scheduling tool using SAP data extracts.
- Execute two Lean setup reduction projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program at an accredited university.
- Preference for Mechanical or Industrial Engineering majors.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a larger team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
