About the role#
The Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment is hiring an LADC Intern to provide substance abuse counseling services. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed counselor or qualified clinical professional. This role focuses on learning clinical operations while supporting individuals, couples, and groups in a treatment setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide counseling services including screening, intake, assessment, and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate records that follow all agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in team staffing, staff meetings, and professional consultations.
- Meet with families to identify service needs and provide appropriate referrals.
- Work as an active member of the treatment team.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Enrollment in an accredited alcohol and drug counselor education program.
- Approval from your program instructor to begin the practicum portion of your education.
- Ability to pass background studies issued by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
- Completion of or willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

- Location: Duluth, Minnesota.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship at $17 per hour.
- The term is rolling.
