About the role#
The Data Intern works with the Data Analyst to support daily operations and various data projects. This role offers hands-on experience in business intelligence and organizational reporting within a non-profit setting. You will receive bi-weekly mentorship and supervision to support your professional development and learning goals.
What you'll do#
- Gather, clean, and transform data for reporting and dashboard projects.
- Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and logic models.
- Document data flows, relationships, and processes through ER diagrams and data dictionaries.
- Perform data validation and quality assurance tasks.
- Prepare reports for program evaluation, strategic planning, and committee meetings.
- Contribute to the review of program data needs across systems like EHRs, BI platforms, Odoo, and FAMs.
- Support artificial intelligence initiatives and learning groups.
- Communicate data findings to various audiences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master program in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Enrollment in an internship program where you receive school credit for your hours.
- Foundational knowledge of data modeling, gathering, and cleansing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic SQL.
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Sisense.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
