    About the role#

    The Welding Engineer Intern supports our manufacturing and engineering teams by evaluating and improving fabrication methods. You will gain hands-on experience with welding practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement projects while working alongside technical professionals in our production environment.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot and solve problems.
    • Assist with welding process development, testing, and production improvement projects.
    • Help with qualification testing for welding personnel.
    • Prepare welding procedures, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
    • Research and evaluate new welding techniques, equipment, and fabrication methods.
    • Perform weld inspections, testing, and data documentation.
    • Collect and analyze production data to find process improvement opportunities.
    • Support compliance with standards such as ASME and NAVSEA.
    • Participate in investigations regarding weld quality and corrective actions.
    • Research emerging welding technologies and industry practices.
    • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental requirements in the facility.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Welding, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
    • You must be entering your Sophomore or Junior year.
    • Experience with hands-on welding processes, specifically GTAW and GMAW.
    • A basic understanding of metallurgy, welding processes, and manufacturing principles.
    • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
    • Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical documentation is preferred.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Modeling, or 3D design is a plus.

    • Location: Ogden, Utah.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
