    About the role#

    As a Commercial Structures Intern, you will focus on engine safety, reliability, and affordability. You will work within small teams and receive direct coaching from senior engineers. This role is based in East Hartford, Connecticut, for the Summer 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform structural analysis, including dynamics, loads, stability, stress fatigue, and thermal analysis.
    • Use finite-element and classical methods to conduct strength, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic, and optimization analyses.
    • Collaborate on engine projects to improve robustness and capability.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
    • Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the start of the internship.
    • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
    • U.S. citizenship is required to access necessary systems.
    • Experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
    • Proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, and ANSYS.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Previous internship, co-op, or work experience is a plus.
