About the role#
Join the Ottawa Quality Assurance team to contribute to software validation for IP switching platforms. This position offers hands-on experience with manual and automated testing while you build knowledge of networking and virtualization technologies. You will work on-site for a term of 4 or 8 months starting in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers to set up new lab topologies.
- Learn about integrated end-to-end IP systems.
- Write new automation scripts in Python and improve existing ones.
- Execute test suites to validate software.
- Identify software defects, document bugs, and retest after fixes.
- Gain experience with the software development lifecycle and quality assurance processes.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a bachelor’s degree in Software or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of electrical circuits or software development.
- Proficiency with Python.
- A strong willingness to learn.
- Experience with Telecom or IP networks is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI and ML is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools like Excel and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Strong communication skills.

- Compensation: $25.50 to $35.00 per hour.
