About the role#
As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will support project engineering activities at our Corpus Christi refinery. You will work alongside senior engineers and managers to gain hands-on experience in electrical systems and refinery operations. This role focuses on documentation, project scoping, and field observation.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project engineering tasks ranging from simple to moderate complexity.
- Observe lockout/tagout energy isolation and participate in zero energy verification.
- Review electrical engineering documentation, including one-line diagrams, arc flash studies, and motor control schematics.
- Provide mark-ups for engineering drawings and technical data.
- Create job scopes for ongoing projects.
- Update and create CITGO specifications related to electrical engineering and terminal operations.
- Edit the engineering training manual to align with current practices.
- Update equipment reliability and integrity plans.
- Conduct site visits to witness activities and perform project scoping or verification.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma.
- Current enrollment in an accredited engineering program.
- Sophomore, junior, or senior classification.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
