About the role#
This is a paid, 12-week summer internship for students pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. You will work within either the Project Engineering or Reliability Department. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will gain exposure to refinery operations, safety practices, and technical workflows. At the end of the term, you will deliver a presentation on your project experience and accomplishments.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support for various refinery units.
- Conduct basic engineering research and support for electrical projects.
- Update engineering records and perform routine engineering tasks.
- Generate discipline-related work scopes and review project documentation.
- Edit the engineering training manual.
- Assist with the creation and update of equipment reliability and integrity plans.
- Review existing engineering documentation for consistency and completeness.
- Consult with Senior Project Engineers and Managers.
- Conduct site visits to witness activities and perform project scoping or verification.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma.
- Enrollment in an accredited Electrical Engineering Bachelor Degree program.
- Minimum sophomore status (completion of freshman year).
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the full 12-week program.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) eligibility.
