About the role#
The Lemont Refinery is seeking a Maintenance Planning Intern for the summer of 2027. You will learn refinery work processes and safe practices while working on projects under the direction of senior planners or managers. This is a paid, full-time position where you will gain hands-on experience in a refinery environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with or perform maintenance duties, including planning, scheduling, and ordering materials for worklists.
- Help develop schedules by interfacing with execution contractors to manage manpower and costs.
- Collaborate with teams from Operations, Reliability Engineering, Process Engineering, Inspection, and Safety to support daily plant operations.
- Conduct site visits to witness activities and verify project scopes.
- Prepare and deliver an end-of-internship summary and presentation covering your accomplishments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Construction Management Bachelor’s degree program.
- Minimum sophomore status in college.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Ability to work forty hours per week.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Eligibility for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
