About the role#
This Federal Work Study position supports the English, Speech, and Theater department at Harold Washington College. You will work alongside library staff to preserve campus history by organizing and digitizing past issues of the Herald.
What you'll do#
- Archive old issues of the Herald.
- Consult with college librarians regarding previous archival projects.
- Follow established digitization parameters.
- Collaborate with the Library and English departments.
- Use spreadsheet software to track archival progress.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Harold Washington College.
- Enrollment in a minimum of 6 semester hours of pre-credit or credit classes.
- A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Good academic and disciplinary standing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Hours are negotiable, with a preference for Monday and Wednesday from 12 pm to 4 pm.
- Maximum hours: 20 hours per week.
