About the role#
This position is part of the Federal Work Study program at the Harold Washington Campus. You will work within the library department to support daily operations and assist students and faculty. This is a part-time, paid role designed to help students gain experience while managing educational expenses.
What you'll do#
- Staff the circulation desk and answer basic questions from library users.
- Help users operate printers, copiers, and scanners.
- Maintain the collection by reshelving books and performing shelf reading.
- Complete clerical tasks and additional projects as assigned by the department.
What you'll need#
- You must be actively attending a City College of Chicago and enrolled in at least 6 semester hours of credit or pre-credit classes.
- You must be part of the Student Financial Aid Program and approved for Federal Work Study.
- You need to maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have work permit consent if applicable.
- This role is open to students in Communications, History, English, Business Administration, or Media Studies.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Hours: Monday and Wednesday from 9am to 12pm, and Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm to 8pm.
