About the role#
CK Associates Environmental Consultants is hiring a student intern for the Water Quality Program in Lake Charles. This position offers hands-on experience for students pursuing degrees in environmental fields. The role is full-time and on-site, with a schedule that remains flexible to accommodate your school commitments.
What you'll do#
- Perform environmental field work, including collecting water quality samples and taking field measurements.
- Assist with the preparation of water permit applications and compliance documents.
- Analyze data and maintain project spreadsheets.
- Prepare basic reports.
- Communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional manner.
What you'll need#
- College coursework in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, or related life sciences.
- You must be at least 21 years old with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a full-size pickup truck.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- You must satisfy all Drug and Alcohol, Health and Safety, and Security requirements, including obtaining a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours.
- Experience collecting water samples is preferred.
- Completion of required safety and on-the-job training.
