About the role#
Commerce Bank offers a paid, full-time internship for the Summer 2027 term. This 11-week program runs from May 18, 2027, through July 30, 2027. You will work on-site Monday through Friday. Interns engage in strategic projects, company initiatives, and networking events like lunch-and-learns and community service activities.
What you'll do#
- Support relationship and portfolio managers with loan documentation, onboarding, and monitoring.
- Perform financial analysis for companies across various industries and sizes.
- Learn the credit analysis and underwriting process, covering areas like cash flow and loan structure.
- Rotate through local business lines including Commercial, Treasury, Trust, Retail, and Community Markets.
- Join loan committee meetings to observe discussions on renewals and new requests.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior or Senior status in a bachelor’s degree program.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Basic understanding of banking, accounting, or finance principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Interest in sales and shadowing relationship managers.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Location & details#
This position is based on-site in Springfield, Joplin, Bolivar, or Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The role is a paid, full-time commitment.
