About the role#
Concord Hospital Health System is hiring a Student Ultrasound Technologist to work on a per diem basis. You will perform ultrasound exams under the direction of a Registered Sonographer. This role requires constant supervision by a registered technologist, as you may not work shifts alone. You must be currently enrolled in an accredited education program and maintain good standing throughout your employment.
What you'll do#
- Perform ultrasound exams following department and regulatory standards.
- Assess patient information and prepare patients for their procedures.
- Explain expectations to patients before exams begin.
- Document patient care and procedure details.
- Use hospital information technology systems and equipment.
- Manage your daily workload with flexibility and focus on productivity.
- Follow all safety protocols and department policies.
- Complete required professional and hospital training.
- Participate in projects aimed at continuous improvement.
What you'll need#
- Successful completion of at least two semesters in a nationally recognized and accredited Sonography Program.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Enrollment in a relevant education program, such as Nursing or Biomedical Sciences.
- Ability to lift or push up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
- Comfort working in environments with exposure to bodily fluids and pathogens.
