About the role#
North Suffolk Community Services offers practicum placements for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner students. You will work within our Community Mental Health Centers alongside our nurse practitioner team, who serve as your preceptors. These positions are paid and available on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
You will participate in psychiatric mental health nursing services. Your work involves supporting patients with a wide variety of diagnoses and clinical presentations. You will also engage with a diverse range of demographics throughout your placement.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current psychiatric mental health NP or DNP candidate.
- This role requires self-motivation and the ability to take initiative.
- We look for students with experience or a strong interest in severe mental illness.
- Note that this program is not for RN or BSN candidates.
