About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within a nonprofit finance team that provides oversight across 18 sites. You will work under the supervision of the AVP of Grants Management. The role is designed for students or recent graduates interested in finance, operations, or systems who want to contribute to organizational projects in a collaborative setting.
What you'll do#
- Support the build-out of the Finance Intranet by compiling standard operating procedures, resource materials, and training videos.
- Develop and organize guidance materials for the NetSuite ERP system, including reference documents and FAQs.
- Assist in drafting and organizing standard operating procedures for core finance workflows.
- Support operational organization, including file management and SharePoint site maintenance.
- Research best practices in nonprofit finance operations and help apply findings to internal processes.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning of internal sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or Public Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective planning and organizing abilities.
- Attention to detail and the ability to synthesize information clearly.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in the New York City metropolitan area. You are expected to work in person at the Manhattan office at least 1-2 times per month.
- The internship lasts for 3 months, starting September 2026 or earlier, with the potential for extension.
- You will work between 15 and 20 hours per week during standard business hours (9am-5pm EST).
- This is a paid position at $17 per hour.
