About the role#
This is a per diem, night shift role based in Fairlawn, Ohio. You will work within our inpatient and post-surgical orthopedics department. This position requires a minimum commitment of 24 hours per month. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support our care teams.
What you'll do#
- Assist the nursing team with direct patient care and unit operations.
- Perform activities of daily living and basic clinical tasks.
- Collect urine and blood specimens.
- Perform EKGs and blood glucose testing.
- Remove IV and Foley catheters.
- Help with patient transfers, mobility, transport, and discharges.
- Escort patients to testing or pre-op areas using proper identification.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program, pursuing an associate or bachelor degree.
- Completion of at least one clinical rotation is preferred.
- Previous patient care or customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Basic math skills for recording patient data.
- Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with patients, families, and staff.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and clinical abbreviations is preferred.
- Ability to obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

- Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Employment type: Per diem (PRN).
