About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide patient care and support pharmacy operations. This role focuses on delivering quality care, managing patient health programs, and maintaining a safe environment in a retail pharmacy setting. You will be expected to work as part of a team, modeling values of empathy and compassion in your daily interactions.
What you'll do#
- Display empathy and compassion for patients, customers, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Manage patient care programs to support customer health and wellness.
- Facilitate a team culture that promotes energy, enthusiasm, and pride.
- Maintain a safe and effective retail pharmacy work environment.
- Assist with inventory and workflow management, excluding final prescription verification.
- Communicate information and instructions to colleagues and customers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines and timeframes.
- Ability to remain upright, move items, and perform tasks requiring finger dexterity and visual acuity.
- Availability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
