About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for a future Pharmacist position. You will gain hands-on experience through key learning activities and time spent with district leadership.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow all company standard operating procedures.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workflows.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Support immunizations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including educating patients and documenting information.
- Field medical questions, take telephonic prescriptions, and clarify medication details with prescribers.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and putting away deliveries.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching to team members and remain flexible to work across different store locations as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the active process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Strong attention and focus to handle tasks accurately and pivot between priorities.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to respond appropriately to patient needs.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Mathematical reasoning skills for calculating dosages and supply needs.
Location & details#
- Location: Addison, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, with rolling availability including nights and weekends.
- Compensation: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
