About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides hands-on experience with pharmacy operations and prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. This is a part-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company policies and standard operating procedures at every workstation.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care during interactions.
- Complete a training roadmap that includes key learning experiences and activities.
- Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching to other team members.
- Help with inventory activities, such as cycle counts and putting away medication deliveries.
- Educate patients on services and refer questions to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Proficiency in using math to solve problems, such as determining prescription quantities.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required by business needs.
