About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding process. You will work within a primary department or functional area to gain exposure to daily operations, research, and reporting. The program includes departmental rotations, administrative support, and jobsite observation to help you explore potential career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations across departments, offices, or jobsites.
- Assist with projects, coordination efforts, and business systems.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand business operations.
- Participate in training programs, meetings, and rotations.
- Conduct business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner.
- Travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips, and work overtime when required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or a recent graduate.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- Demonstrated interest in homebuilding, financial services, land development, or corporate operations.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to varying work environments, including office and jobsite settings.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree may also be considered.
