About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within the accounting department. You will gain exposure to the homebuilding process and company operations through project work, research, and administrative support. The program is designed to help you explore career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily accounting operations in your assigned office or department.
- Assist with projects, reporting, and coordination efforts.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Participate in training programs, meetings, and departmental rotations.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Travel occasionally, including overnight trips, if business needs require.
- Work overtime when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or a recent graduate.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Strong interest in learning about homebuilding and corporate operations.
- Willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and work in a professional team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different work environments.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree may also be considered.

- Location: Austin, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, remote, or hybrid settings depending on the assignment.
- Status: Full-time and paid position.
