About the role#
As a Controls Engineering Intern, you will work on embedded systems for HVAC equipment. You will assist with requirement decomposition, firmware and hardware specifications, and systems engineering. This role involves collaborating with teams to design control system requirements, including functional specifications and design constraints.
What you'll do#
- Develop system level requirements and verification plans for consumer appliances and Smart Home devices, such as air handlers, furnaces, thermostats, and IoT edge devices.
- Analyze refrigeration systems to develop control logic for HVAC equipment.
- Create test strategies for bench and lab testing of firmware and hardware.
- Translate system requirements into detailed design specifications.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure system components integrate properly.
- Maintain system documentation, including architecture documents and test plans.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
- Work with other teams to perform root cause analysis and solve production problems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
- A solid understanding of electro-mechanical systems.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future.
