About the role#
Dematic is hiring a Controls Engineer Co-Op to join our engineering team. You will work with a project implementation team and assist in the planning and execution of daily engineering tasks. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
What you'll do#
- Work with the Controls CAD team to develop layout and electrical schematic drawings using Maestro and AutoCAD-E.
- Assist in the creation of Bills of Material.
- Learn about controls components and their placement within system designs.
- Gain exposure to Programmable Logic Controllers and their programming basics.
- Travel to North American job sites to help commission equipment and systems.
- Identify and solve routine problems, seeking guidance from team members when necessary.
What you'll need#
- You must be a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to work on-site at our Grand Rapids office.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- An interest in working within collaborative teams.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar modeling programs is preferred.
