About the role#
As a Construction Manager Intern, you will support the daily operations of food and beverage facility construction. You will work on-site to coordinate subcontractors, manage safety programs, and track project schedules and budgets. This position requires collaboration with engineering teams, architects, and clients to ensure projects move forward from the office to the field.
What you'll do#
- Assist project management with the development and maintenance of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Establish and enforce site safety procedures.
- Perform regular jobsite walks and audits to verify progress against the schedule.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Coordinate project close-out activities.
- Support facility start-up and equipment installations.
- Prepare project reports and logs while working with controllers on invoicing and billing.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- A fundamental understanding of how to oversee subcontractors and drive a project schedule.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, schedules, and budgets.
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Project is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Location & details#
- Location: Coopersville, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site, full-time role.
- Schedule: You will work a 10 days on, 4 days off rotation. Expect to work 10+ hours per day.
- Travel: This role requires up to 100% travel to project sites throughout the USA and potentially Canada. You must be willing to relocate for the duration of the internship.
