About the role#
Dewberry is looking for a Highway Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office. You will join a project team and gain hands-on experience by working on tasks similar to those handled by full-time staff. The program includes professional development workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll do#
- Design and prepare contract documents for roadway improvement projects.
- Perform roadway and highway design tasks.
- Use CADD software to support project deliverables.
- Apply industry and state design standards to your work.
- Collaborate with other interns and firm leaders on a group project.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering.
- Familiarity with NJDOT and NJ Turnpike Authority design standards.
- Knowledge of AASHTO and MUTCD guidelines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
