About the role#
Barnhart Energy Company is hiring a Field Engineer Co-Op for the Summer and Fall 2027 terms. You will support project execution through technical documentation, field coordination, logistics, and quality oversight. This is a travel position that requires you to relocate to a project site.
What you'll do#
- Act as a liaison between project leadership, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
- Participate in project planning, coordination, and execution meetings.
- Identify and solve technical, logistical, and operational challenges.
- Coordinate equipment, tooling, materials, and manpower needs.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for accuracy.
- Maintain project schedules, tracking reports, and field documentation.
- Assist with quality inspections, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Audit field work for compliance and promote safe work practices.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, though equivalent experience is considered.
- A technical mindset.
- Ability to temporarily relocate and live on site.
