    About the role#

    Barnhart Energy Company is hiring a Field Engineer Co-Op for the Summer and Fall 2027 terms. You will support project execution through technical documentation, field coordination, logistics, and quality oversight. This is a travel position that requires you to relocate to a project site.

    What you'll do#

    • Act as a liaison between project leadership, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
    • Participate in project planning, coordination, and execution meetings.
    • Identify and solve technical, logistical, and operational challenges.
    • Coordinate equipment, tooling, materials, and manpower needs.
    • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
    • Review submittals and shop drawings for accuracy.
    • Maintain project schedules, tracking reports, and field documentation.
    • Assist with quality inspections, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
    • Audit field work for compliance and promote safe work practices.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, though equivalent experience is considered.
    • A technical mindset.
    • Ability to temporarily relocate and live on site.

    • Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
    • Terms: Summer 2027 and Fall 2027.
    • Employment: Full-time, paid position.
