About the role#
Diamondback Energy is hiring a Corporate Development Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work on an individual project throughout the term, which concludes with a presentation to the executive team. This role provides exposure to acquisitions, divestitures, financial analysis, and corporate strategy within the oil and gas industry.
What you'll do#
- Manage an assigned project and present your findings to executives.
- Learn about A&D, valuation, and deal evaluation with support from an experienced mentor.
- Help screen and evaluate potential acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture opportunities.
- Prepare strategic deliverables for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate with Finance, Land, Engineering, and Legal teams to understand deal execution.
- Visit field operations, including active drilling rigs and completion spreads.
- Track Permian Basin transaction activity and industry trends.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program or higher in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Plans to return to school for the Fall 2027 semester.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Dallas, Texas for the duration of the internship.
- A GPA of 3.40 or higher is preferred.
- Prior internship experience in finance or M&A is a plus.
