About the role#
This internship focuses on developing a 2028 marketing plan to increase retailer engagement with the True Value brand. You will work on strategic initiatives that communicate the benefits of the True Value network and the broader Do it Best organization. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create strategic recommendations that show the value of the True Value and Do it Best Group.
- Develop creative ways to communicate the brand program through channels like email, social media, and video concepts.
- Conduct research on competitors and the independent home improvement and retail landscape.
- Evaluate competitor messaging, marketing investments, and recruitment strategies.
- Gather insights from existing materials, retailer feedback, and industry trends to identify opportunities for brand growth.
- Present your findings and recommendations to marketing leadership.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Prior coursework or projects in marketing strategy, consumer behavior, branding, or market research.
- Experience creating presentations or marketing content.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with data and feedback to summarize findings.
- A creative mindset and the ability to collaborate with team members.
- Dependability, organization, and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You must be local to the area for the duration of the internship.
- The term runs from May 17, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
- This is an on-site, paid position.
