About the role#
The Operations Analytics team at Dominion Energy manages time-series data from sources like SCADA and Synchrophasors to help monitor and manage the power grid. As an intern, you will work with engineers to turn system data into business intelligence. You will receive structured assignments to build your engineering knowledge and gain familiarity with power systems equipment.
What you'll do#
- Assist Power Delivery personnel with data requests and operational analysis.
- Collaborate with team members to automate data retrieval and analytics processes.
- Maintain the uptime and operation of PI system resources.
- Explore new PI features and techniques to model time-series and asset data.
- Build data services and improve capabilities using SDK and API tools.
- Train users on SeeQ features for data analytics.
- Work alongside team members and vendors on large-scale, custom application projects.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Anticipated graduation date of Spring 2028 or later.
- Minimum GPA of 3.25.
- Strong computing and programming skills.
- Knowledge of basic electric power concepts, such as power flow, transmission, and distribution.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build professional relationships.
- Strong decision-making, time management, and problem-solving skills.
