    About the role#

    This internship offers exposure to substation control house DC systems. You will work alongside Substation Operations Technical Specialists to support daily routine tasks and gain a fundamental understanding of our infrastructure.

    What you'll do#

    • Interface with battery monitors and battery charger monitors.
    • Retrieve and analyze data from monitoring devices.
    • Configure automated alarming for threshold violations.
    • Assist with new monitor installations, including verifying internal and external wiring.
    • Develop familiarity with substation one-lines and control design prints.
    • Maintain software databases and create webpages for new monitor installations.
    • Resolve loss of communication alarms.
    • Terminate fiber optic cables and punch down ethernet cables.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
    • Graduation date of Spring 2028 or later.
    • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
    • Problem-solving skills related to mechanical or electrical equipment and control circuits.
    • Computer aptitude and experience with software applications.
    • Familiarity with operating and handling power tools.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Time management and organizational skills.

    • Term: Rolling.
    • Compensation: Paid position ($23.00 - $37.00 per hour).
