About the role#
This internship takes place during the summer of 2027 within the Corporate Nuclear Engineering and Fuel Department at the Innsbrook Technical Center. You will work with the Electrical/I&C Analysis Group to support the electrical design requirements for nuclear power stations. An experienced engineer will provide mentorship throughout your project work.
What you'll do#
- Track plant electrical loads.
- Perform AC/DC analysis using Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP) software.
- Manage and specify electrical cables.
- Assist with electrical protection and coordination tasks.
- Develop technical evaluations.
- Apply general electrical theory and principles to design basis analysis.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET accredited 4-year degree program for Electrical or I&C Engineering.
- A graduation date of Fall 2028 or later.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel with Macros.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong professional ethics and an inquisitive nature.
