    About the role#

    E2 Consulting Engineers is hiring a Substation Design Engineer Intern to support electric utility projects in the Southwest region. You will work under the direction of senior engineers and the Substation Engineering Manager to develop technical drawings and calculations. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Pasadena, California.

    What you'll do#

    • Create physical or protection and control (P&C) substation design drawings and engineering calculations.
    • Perform self-checks on your work to maintain quality standards.
    • Coordinate project tasks with senior engineers and project managers.
    • Track and update design activities using company or client information systems.
    • Join senior engineers at job site meetings to help gather project scope.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET-approved bachelor’s program for Electrical Engineering.
    • 1 to 3 years of related academic or project experience.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation and the Microsoft Office suite.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
    • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
    • An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and familiarity with substation design standards are preferred but not required.

    • Compensation: $22.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
