    About the role#

    Elk Valley Resources is hiring for an Environmental Science Co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site role based in either Sparwood or Elkford, British Columbia. You will work across various departments including Water Strategy, Terrestrial Science, and Land Strategy.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage and update environmental data within the Environmental Data Management System.
    • Assist with on-site research, monitoring, sampling, and reporting for reclamation and geotechnical compliance.
    • Track water movement and support water management and treatment activities.
    • Handle project management tasks, such as project planning, safety oversight, and contractor supervision.
    • Contribute to wildlife monitoring projects and updates to the Biodiversity Management Plan.
    • Participate in health and safety programs and evaluate new technologies to improve business operations.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Forestry, or Hydrology.
    • A valid Class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
    • Ability to operate vehicles across various terrain and weather conditions.
    • Strong communication skills to share information with different teams and partners.
