About the role#
We are looking for an Accounting Intern to join our team in Raleigh for the Summer 2027 term. This is a 12-week, full-time program beginning May 17, 2027. You will rotate between two accounting teams to gain hands-on experience with financial reporting, compliance, and regulatory requirements while working alongside industry experts. This role is eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Assist with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and SOX control testing.
- Support financial reporting and compliance processes through data analysis, documentation, and research.
- Perform tasks related to GAAP, SEC, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand the finance and mortgage insurance industry.
- Complete ad hoc projects that support our financial reporting and compliance objectives.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising Senior or Graduate student pursuing an Accounting degree.
- You are currently pursuing or plan to pursue a CPA license after graduation.
- You have a strong foundation in accounting principles and GAAP concepts.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- You possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- You are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- You communicate effectively and collaborate well within a team environment.
- You are curious, adaptable, and willing to take on new challenges with a positive attitude.
