About the role#
Enact Mortgage Insurance is seeking a Risk Modeling Intern to join our team in Raleigh for the Summer 2027 term. This 12-week program starts on May 17, 2027. You will work alongside industry experts to refine predictive modeling processes and address business questions. The program includes professional development workshops, networking opportunities with company leadership, and team-building events.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement advanced analytics and forecasting models to optimize business processes.
- Use machine learning and traditional statistical modeling to provide insights for decision making.
- Perform exploratory data analysis on large datasets using structured and unstructured data.
- Explain complex models and methods to non-analytical business users and model governance teams.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate junior or first-year graduate student in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or Finance.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
- Experience applying machine learning algorithms to data.
- Coding experience in Python, R, SAS, or a related language.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with SQL and cloud data services like Snowflake or AWS.
- Interest in analyzing data within the insurance, banking, or financial services industries.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
