About the role#
Search is changing. Buyers now ask AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini for vendor recommendations. We are building our strategy for this shift and need an intern to help us map out this new territory. You will work directly with our VP of Marketing and SEO Specialist to manage both traditional SEO and emerging AI search optimization. You will own real projects and build a portfolio based on measurable business impact.
What you'll do#
- Run keyword research and build topic clusters and content roadmaps.
- Determine how AI assistants select sources and apply those findings to our brand.
- Track our visibility across Google, AI Overviews, and major AI chat platforms.
- Perform on-page optimization and support technical SEO audits.
- Support backlink outreach and digital PR efforts within the HR tech space.
- Use AI tools to speed up research, competitive analysis, and reporting.
- Analyze rankings, traffic, and AI citations to recommend future actions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution for the full duration of the internship.
- Physical location in Canada throughout the internship.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Experience using AI tools for independent projects, such as automating workflows or running experiments.
- Ability to interpret data and identify key insights from rankings, traffic, or citations.
- Clear writing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Academic background in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or related fields.

- This is a fully remote, paid, full-time internship.
- The role is based in Canada with rolling start dates.
