About the role#
This clinical placement provides hands-on experience for dietetic students within a dialysis health care team. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy while following company policies and regulatory requirements. This is a paid, part-time position.
What you'll do#
- Review renal nutrition basics and the daily workflow of a renal dietitian.
- Conduct patient nutrition interviews and provide counseling on prescribed renal diets.
- Calculate diet prescription recommendations.
- Collect data for initial, 90-day, semi-annual, and annual Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Assessments.
- Assist in developing and implementing nutrition plans of care.
- Review monthly nutrition data with patients and practice writing progress notes.
- Develop nutrition-related projects, such as educational handouts or lobby activities, for patients and staff.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement sessions.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, or current enrollment in an accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
- A strong desire to deliver superior patient care.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service to both patients and staff.

- This role is located in Baker, Louisiana.
- Work is on-site and requires travel between assigned facilities.
