About the role#
GBQ Partners is looking for an Accounting intern to join our team in Columbus for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work directly with our assurance and tax teams to support client projects and gain hands-on experience in the accounting field.
What you'll do#
- Assist with audit, review, and assurance engagements.
- Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and related documentation.
- Perform financial and non-financial data analysis.
- Update depreciation schedules and create financial projections.
- Conduct research to support client needs.
- Collaborate with team members to identify solutions and address client issues.
- Track your time to meet established charge hour budgets.
- Participate in firm meetings and represent the company in outside activities.
- Seek regular feedback to improve your professional and technical skills.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a BA or BS program in accounting or a related field.
- Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to learn new software and technical processes quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail when preparing workpapers and documents.
- Understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and relevant tax regulations.
- Familiarity with AICPA and state accountancy board rules of conduct.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends based on client demands.
