About the role#
GBQ Partners is hiring a Winter Intern for their Sylvania, Ohio office. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2028 term. You will work on-site to assist with assurance and tax procedures, gaining hands-on experience with financial audits, reviews, and tax filings.
What you'll do#
- Execute audit, review, and assurance engagements.
- Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and depreciation schedules.
- Analyze financial and non-financial information.
- Perform internet research and prepare projections based on financial data.
- Participate in reengineering meetings for audit and review processes.
- Manage assignments to meet budget requirements and billable hour targets.
- Collaborate with team members to identify client needs and develop solutions.
- Represent the firm through professional activities and build client relationships.
- Seek regular feedback to develop your technical and professional skills.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a BA or BS program for accounting or a related field.
- Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with an ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to produce accurate, neat workpapers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Reliable transportation for on-site client work.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by client demands.
- Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and relevant tax rules and regulations.
